Formed in 1982, Ward International has been providing legal advice, consultancy services and
training to both the HGV and PSV sectors for many years using highly qualified, experienced consultants with
real like knowledge of the transport industry.
If you require either a Goods Vehicle or Public Service
Vehicle Operators Licence, or are experiencing problems with an existing
licence, then look no further.
With over 25 years experience we thoroughly understand the ‘O’ Licensing
process and procedure,
which can be arduous and complex as well as
frustrating and exasperating at times! We can work
on your behalf
to obtain a new licence or to make major variations to an existing licence.
We also offer a licence administration service for many of our clients
following grant.
If difficulties occur you will value our wealth of
experience and our honesty. The Traffic
Commissioner may call you
to a Public Inquiry to examine certain aspects of your operations –
this can
be a daunting experience and the traffic area office will recommend you
seek specialist
assistance ………… which is where we come in.
There
are many companies and solicitors firms who will charge you well in excess
of £1000, often a
lot more, for Public Inquiry representation. Our fees
rarely exceed £1000, are usually well below that
figure and will be agreed
with you beforehand with no hidden extras. Moreover, we will happily
discuss your case initially free of charge and if we consider that it can be
dealt with by you
personally then we will tell you so!
If you wish to
appeal a Public Inquiry decision we have licensed access to appoint Counsel
and will
work with Chambers to put together and present the appeal on your
behalf in the Upper Court.
If you are already operating vehicles then you will
know that VOSA can visit at any time, often
unannounced, to carry out an
inspection of your vehicles and records. As a new operator with a
new
Operators Licence you can be assured of a visit within the first 12 months
of your licence
being granted.
An unsatisfactory report can lead to action being taken
against your licence, usually involving
an appearance at Public Inquiry.
We can visit your premises to carry out a
full
compliance audit to VOSA standards – this
demonstrates to the Traffic
Commissioners that you have taken a pro-active approach. We help
to ensure
your records and systems are compliant and provide recommendations for the
future.
We have many clients who have an annual audit or who
choose to have an audit at times of change, for example when new staff comes
on board. Audits can be combined with training allowing a tailor made
package to be put together to suit your requirements.
